Obituary for Derriel Castle
Derriel Pearce Castle was born on Monday, November 25, 1935 in Thornton, KY and died on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Lexington, KY. He was the son of J. W. and Maude Short Castle. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Annette Youngblood Castle, one brother, Fred (Gwenda) Castle, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Carole Youngblood, brothers-in-law Stan (Jo Ann) and Woody Osborne and god-daughter Carol Thomas and her children Devon and Angela. Derriel loved his family, friends, community and every dog and cat he ever met! Evidence of his love of community is that he was a faithful blood donor for most of his life, giving more than 20 gallons during his lifetime. He will be buried in the Joel Wright Cemetery in Letcher County. He may be remembered by donations to the Lexington Humane Society or a charity of your choice or by your becoming a blood donor.
