Obituary for Clyde "Poppy" Anderson
Clyde "Poppy" Anderson, son of the late Bill and Ethel Anderson was born on August 10, 1940 in Letcher County, Kentucky. Clyde entered eternal life June 1, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center being 76 years, 9 months and 22 days of age at the time of his passing.
Clyde married Bonnie Anderson on February 6, 1974 in Clintwood, Virginia. Bonnie preceded him in death on December 31, 2013. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and dog Sassy, attending Sky View shooting match, taking care of the community park and attending church. Clyde worked as Letcher County Deputy Sheriff and as Deputy Jailer. He had served as a member of the F-N Little League and was a member of the Sky View Park at Haymond, Kentucky.
Clyde is survived by one daughter, Leisha (Rodney) Fouts, of Cromona, Kentucky. One son, Timothy (Carrie) Anderson of Franklin, Indiana. Two grandsons; Jason (Lesley) Collier of Jenkins, Kentucky and Benjamin Anderson of Franklin, Indiana. One granddaughter; Dana (Matthew) Johnson of Jenkins, Kentucky. Three great granddaughters; Jaylee Hope Collier, Alyssa Leigh Collier, Teagan Jo Collier all of Jenkins, Kentucky. One aunt, Edaree and uncle Jimmy Donald McCall.
Clyde is also survived by seven sisters; Alice Cvetnich of Jenkins, Kentucky, Jacqueline (Earl) Stephens of Greenfield, Indiana, Glatha (Jimmy) Tyler of Chatsworth, Georgia, Charmia (Clarence) Smith of Dalton, Georgia, Melinda (James) Polly of McRoberts, Kentucky, Tammy (Eddie) Davis of McRoberts, Kentucky and Patricia Anderson of McRoberts, Kentucky. Three brothers; Delmar (Rosemary) Anderson of Greenfield, Indiana, Randy Anderson of Dalton, Georgia, and Ricky (Betty) Anderson of Jenkins, Kentucky.
Clyde was preceded in death by five brothers; Billy Ray, Noah, Charles, Don and Douglas.
