Obituary for Cleo Wampler Cates Holbrook
Cleo Wampler Cates Holbrook, daughter of the late Abe and Elease Smedley Wampler was born in Neon, Kentucky July 7, 1936. She entered eternal life Wednesday, August 30, 2017 being 81 years, 1 month and 23 days of age at the time of her passing.
Cleo married Arco Holbrook August of 1979. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and watching her grandchildren play sports. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a great friend to all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Arco Holbrook of Craft Colly, Kentucky. Six sons; Andy (Angie) Cates of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Barry (Vernice) Cates of Pikeville, Kentucky, Anthony Banks, Joe Banks, Austin Banks and Keaston Banks all of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Four daughters; Shondra (Tony) Adams of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Michelle (Russell) Fleming of Mayking, Kentucky, Lisa (Lindsey) Gibson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Rhonda (Jeff) Adams of Sergent, Kentucky. Two brothers; Jimmy Wampler of Kettering, Ohio and Frankie Wampler of Michigan City, Indiana. Three sisters; Shelia Lewis of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Saundra Wampler of Fairborn, Ohio and Phyllis Thacker of Pikeville, Kentucky.
Also surviving are twenty grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Cleo was preceded in death by two sons; Chris Cates and Albert Cates. Five brothers; Tommy Wampler, Curtis Wampler, Cecil Wampler, Tony Wampler and Jackie Wampler. Two sisters; Lelia Burton and Laure Wampler.
