Obituary for Charlie W. Lucas
Charlie Wayne Lucas, son of the late David and June Victoria Blanton Lucas was born on August 2, 1943 in Thornton, Kentucky. He entered eternal life January 29, 2014 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky being 70 years, 5 months and 27 days of age at the time of his passing. He was married to Dorothy Holbrook Lucas on February 1, 1975 in Clintwood, Virginia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and collecting coins. He also loved going to church and was a member of the Cramcreek Pentecostal Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lucas of Thornton, Kentucky. Five sons; Jeffrey Wayne Lucas of Whitesburg, Kentucky, Gary Lynn (Vel)Lucas of Jasper, Alabama, Charles Brian (Angie) Lucas of Mayking, Kentucky, David Lloyd (Brandy) Lucas of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Bruce Stamper of Thornton, Kentucky. Three daughters; Donna Louise (Mike) Banks of Mayking, Kentucky, Sandy Jean (Alan) McCall of Abingdon, Virginia and Mary Rhonda (John) Nichols of Mayking, Kentucky. Two brothers; Donald Ray Lucas of Campbranch, Kentucky and David Eugene Lucas of Thornton, Kentucky. Four sisters; Ann Adams of Thornton, Kentucky, Linda Lois McFall of Mayking, Kentucky, Audrey Faye Lucas of Pinecreek, Kentucky and Carolyn Wynn of Jenkins, Kentucky. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Judy Ann and Glenna Sue.
