Obituary for Bernie Dale Johnson
Bernie Dale Johnson, son of the late McKinley and Icy Sowards Johnson was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, December 5, 1934. He entered eternal life Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Tri City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, Kentucky being 83 years and 3 days of age at the time of his passing.
Bernie was married to Sybilla Combs on August 11, 1962. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. Bernie was a retired coal miner of 40 plus years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sybilla Johnson of Whitesburg, Kentucky. Two daughters; Sherry (Jr.) Whitaker and Stephanie (Greg) Addington both of Whitesburg, Kentucky. One son, Dan (Toni) Johnson of New Lexington, Ohio. Two brothers; Jimmy Johnson and George Johnson both of New Lexington, Ohio. One sister, Betty Banks of McRoberts, Kentucky.
Also surviving are five grandchildren; Justin, Jason, Nikki, Candice and Larissa.Six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Bernie was preceded in death by two brothers; John Johnson and Kenneth Johnson. Two nephews; Ronnie Johnson and Greg Johnson.
