Obituary for Basil Holbrook
Basil Holbrook, son of the late William M. Holbrook and Rachel Virginia Hall Holbrook was born in Ermine, Kentucky January 27, 1925. He entered eternal life Sunday, April 28, 2013 at his residence in Ermine, Kentucky being 88 years, 3 months, and 1 day of age at the time of his passing. Basil marreid Patricia Hope Brenner April 4, 1946 in Alexandria, Virginia. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United States Army. Basil was a member of the Nolen Masonic Lodge #806 in Pine Mountain, Kentucky and Shriner with the Oleika Temple in Lexington, Kentucky. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hope Holbrook of Ermine, Kentucky; a daughter, Judith Lynn Collins of Ermine, Kentucky; two grandchildren: Brandon (Lori) Tolliver and Crystal Lynn Collins (Gareth John) Sparks; three great grandchildren: Laken Hope Tolliver, Makenna Shae and Mattalynn Reed Sparks. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passsing. Basil was preceded in death by four brothers: Jason, Cecil, Edwin and J.B. Holbrook; and two sisters: America Hall and Elizabeth Ison.
