Obituary for Barbara S. Potter
Barbara Sue Potter, daughter of the late John and Hattie Hall Dishman was born June 22, 1947 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She entered eternal life Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 71 years, 9 months and 11 days of age at the time of her passing.
She was married to Sam D. Potter on September 22, 1983 in Clintwood, Virginia who preceded her in death on March 28, 2014. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all that knew her. She loved going to church and singing in church.
She is survived by two sons; Glendal (Sheila) Johnson of Jasper, Alabama and Derrick Potter of Jackhorn, Kentucky. Three daughters; Tina (Faubus) Switzer of Bardstown, Kentucky, Virtie (Danny) Kirby of Richmond, Kentucky and Samantha (Jonathan) Burke of Jackhorn, Kentucky. Two sisters; Patricia Bates of Jenkins, Kentucky and Judy Fields of Cowan, Kentucky. Eleven grandchildren; Brittany, Josh, Glen, Eli, Lucas, Emma, Fannah, Logan, Haley, Braxton and LaShauna. Three great grandchildren; A' Miracle, Josiah and Malachiah.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Five sisters; Linda Sturgill, Virginia Bates, Nannie Dishman, Martha Dishman and Wilma Taylor. Three brothers; Johnny Dishman, Lawson Dishman and Jackie Dishman.
