Obituary for Barbara Ann Ison
Barbara Ann Ison, daughter of the late Edward B. and Pauline Sexton Ison was born November 8, 1954 in Whitesburg, Kentucky. She entered eternal life January 12, 2022 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky being 67 years, 2 months and 4 days at the time of her passing.
Barbara attended Morehead State University and earned her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Vocational Education. She later earned her Rank 1 in Guidance Counseling as well as her principalship also from Morehead State University. She worked as a principal for the Letcher County School system for many years. Barbara was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed yard work more than most. She enjoyed traveling and had a knack for collecting antiques. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew her.
She is survived her loving daughter Jessica Frazier of Premium, Kentucky. A granddaughter, Alexis Gibson of Premium, Kentucky. One sister, Linda (Wayne) Wright of Cynthiana, Kentucky. Five nephews; Daryn, Joshua, Jeremy, Marc and Shawn. Four Nieces; Kim, Christie, Jessica and Elaine.
Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Bonita Pigman and Anita Riley.
