Obituary for Alpha May Miller

Alpha May Miller exchanged the comforts of her earthly home for the glories of Heaven on December 29, 2022. She passed peacefully at her home in Craft Branch, Kentucky.

Alpha was born on March 22, 1944, to Ruth Craft Taylor (deceased), Dewey Thomas (deceased), and stepfather, Eugene "Doc" Taylor (deceased).

Alpha was a humble servant of the Lord and dedicated to Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. She accepted Christ and was baptized by her Uncle Bill more than 50 years ago. Alpha rarely missed a Sunday service; you could find her seated amongst her family and count on her to softly clap her hands in agreement with the sermon.

The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Alpha. She loved evenings on the porch with her sisters, truck rides with her husband, Alvin, laughing with her children and grandchildren and cuddling with her sweet dog, Dolly. Alpha has a quiet spirit and shared her steadfast faith in the gospel b sharing scripture and singing hymns from Granny Rachel's hymnal.

In addition to her parents, Alpha was proceeded in death by her four brothers; Carl Junior Polly, Jimmy and Donnie Taylor, and Arthur Lee Thomas, one sister, Altia Thomas, one brother-in-law, Jay Vanover, one sister-in-law, Rosetta Polly, and two precious nephews, "Little Jay" Vanover and Billy "Keith" Adams.

Alpha is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alvin Miller, three children Kathy Bentley (Danny), Ricky Miller (April), and Connie Sue Yonts-Little (Kenny), and eight grandchildren: Daniel (Caitlyn) Bentley, Michael and Ethan Miller, Hunter and Kylee Yonts, Josie, David, and Mylah Little. Also surviving are her sisters, who were here best friends: Peggy Vanover, Connie (Bill) Adams, Susie (Jeff) Hart, Loretta Taylor, and two sister-in-law who she cherished: Judy Taylor and Sheila Taylor. Alpha also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she treasured .
