Obituary for Alice Kincer
Alice Kincer, age 94, passed away on March 7, 2018 at the Whitesburg Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Lona Adams Kincer and was born on October 30, 1923.
She lived for many years on Bottom Fork at Mayking, Kentucky, but in recent years, due to ill health, she was a resident of Letcher Manor Nursing Home. She loved all of the caretakers there, and considered them her family. She referred to them as "Her Girls" and they called her ''Granny".
She was a member of the Thornton Regular Baptist Church. She was also and Honorary Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by five nephews: Dean (Peggy) Wilcox, Eugene (Jeanette) Sparks, Windle (Shirley) Sparks all of Mayking, and Major (Ella) Sparks of Whitesburg, One Niece, Vel Spangler of Kettering, Ohio, and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was like a second Mom to all of them.
In addition to her late parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxie Wilcox and Dixie Sparks, one brother Major Kincer, one niece Dolly Polly, one nephew Ronnie Wilcox, and one great nephew, Donald Lee Sparks.
